The Hotel Convento sits high above Amalfi, and has been there for decades. But before it was a hotel, it was a convent. This courtyard was once an integral part of the convent.

The streets of Amalfi Town are very narrow, limited in many places to one lane of traffic, managed by a traffic light. The locals know that under the buildings are hidden passages where one can make better time getting from one point to another.
